Math & Science Class

HOMEROOM: 

Welcome back!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter Break!  Very exciting things happening in 8th grade as we prepare for our trip (May 8th) and then GRADUATION (June 6th)! :-)  

• Trip Info: Trip packets will go home today. Included is permission slips, dinner orders, cell phone chaperone list, etc... Please send in your trip packet by Friday.  
• Booster pages are now due.  To have time to design boosters and check all pages for production, she needs to have all boosters in by Tuesday the latest. 
• Please send in pictures you would like included in the graduation slideshow on a thumb drive.  

• Plan your field day event with your partner/group.
• If you have not sent in your graduation fee, please do so.
• A friendly reminder that registration forms for Mrs. Tironi’s Summer Program are due by May 1st. We had received quite a few interest forms, however, it is imperative that we receive the official registration forms so we can begin planning all the fun events for this summer and get a better idea of how many students will be coming. If you interested in registering for our summer camp and have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Tironi. We are hoping to have a good turnout to make this a very successful summer program for our school. Thank you very much.

REMINDERS:

• Check Google Classroom for additional assignments, especially COMPUTERS & SPANISH 
• CHECK GOOGLE CLASSROOM REGULARLY & DO iXL AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK

Chapter Nine: Enrichment: Extending Pythagorean Theorem to Three Dimensions:

1. Read the section carefully: Pair them up in groups of two and have them do the Try the Try These.
2. Once they have competed Step One above they should individually do all the enrichment homework problems in the workbook. I will collect these for an extra credit grade. You can finish for homework if they don’t complete in class.
3. If they have time they should read 10.6 and 10.7 then do IXL BB.10 and BB.11 (no need to do this for homework)

Grade 7

Deacon Murphy:

Chapter Ten: Enrichment: Area of Irregular Polygons pg 298- 299 pdf 317-318 (Need a supply of graph paper)

1. Read the section carefully: Pair them up in groups of two and have them do the Try the Try These.
2. Once they have competed Step One above they should individually do all the enrichment homework problems in the workbook Pg 333-334. I will collect these for an extra credit grade. They can finish for homework if they don’t complete in class.
3. If they have time they should  do V.1, V.2, V.3, V.4 (no need to do this for homework)

Grade 6:

• iXL K.10-K.13 (15 minutes)

Deacon Murphy:

Sections 10-3 (Angle Pairs)  

and 10-4 (Angles of Parallel Lines)

1. Read the section carefully:
2. do the all the problems in the textbook.
3. They should start IXL CC.13 and CC,14.
4. They should continue for homework. The IXL grades for each section will be used as a quiz grade..
